Hey, everybody. I used to be a frequent member of this board about 2 years ago...it was back in the day of Doris K...any one remember that name?
    Anyway, here's my dilemma:
I've had a card w/BofA for about 2 years- my line is at $35k. I've put over $100,000 on the card since it was opened, and have never been late.
I recently applied for another card from them and was approved, but for a shitty (pardon my French) line of $4400. It's the Balance Transfer Card (8.9%). I know I can reallocate (sp?) some of the CL from my other card with them, but I'd rather not. (As many of you are aware, a decrease in a CL is noticeable on a credit report...)
Anyway, I called them and the ignoramus that took my call informed me that I have to wait 9 months, blah, blah, blah...
My question to all you fine folks here is does anybody know how to get around this? I've got some other balances I'd like to transfer, but @ $4400, it's more of a pain in the a$$ than a help.
    Thanks so much.

I had a card with a disappointing credit line. I called and got the same line that you got about the nine months. I did PFB and Robin reviewed my account and bumped me up.

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply! You'll have to forgive my naieve demeanor, but could you clue me in as to what PFB is and who Robyn is? LOL. Sorry to be such a pain. ;)

Kkewl, I am sure she will bump that line right on up.

From my experience, the best way to get an initial "higher" line is to do a large balance transfer. Where most companies are FRIGHTENED by large balance transfers, BofA seems to welcome you with open arms.

Hi! Sorry for the delay. I don't know if you'll be able to find this message in the midst of all the other ones, but just wanted to let you know that nothing has happened yet....I'll let you know as soon as I hear from her. Thanks guys!
    :) Peace!

Hmmm, I notice you said you opened a second BOFA card?

I just got a Platinum from them in late January from a pre-approved offer. I just got another preapproved offer from them in the mail. Can I have two cards?

I'm not sure I'd get a CL increase on the first one since it's so new. I wouldn't mind transferring some more of my older cards onto a new BOFA card and sock-drawing the others. But can I have two?

As far as I know, yeah! :) I've got 2 accounts now, but at one time, my GF had 3, so my assumption is that they're happy to give you as many cards as you qualify for. :)

They told me you can have as many cards as you want and they told me to apply for another card with lower rate. I told him that I don't want another one and I wanted my current one into 7.99% APR card.

Thanks. I just used Planet Feedback to ask them about this. My main thing is I would like to transfer more of my balances with Household and Umbrella - BUT - I want to keep ALL cards under 50% utilization. Don't want to transfer any more to my first BOA card because of that. So I just wrote them to see if I can accept the second offer (it's also for a Platinum Visa) - or if maybe they'll up the CL on the first one. Figure it can't hurt - and going for that second BOA card isn't a matter of life or death - I'd just rather pay a much lower rate that I am on the Household and Umbrella accounts. So if they say yes - then great. If they say no (either to a CL or the second card) - no big deal - AND I've not wasted an inquiry)

I believe you can have as many as you want. I have been approved for three so far. (I consolidated two for a higher limit, and am thinking of consolidating the third at a later date)
