Does anyone have any advice here on an OC who I believe just isn't aware of what he can do. I've tried to pay off a dentist bill in full three times. I go to the office and present a letter to have the collection removed from my account, once I present the letter the person in charge freaks out and says they can't sign that, they don't know if the remark can be made to anything else but "Paid in full". I tell her that you can tell the CA that you made a mistake on the request for collection or just tell them you are not requesting any further collection activity on this account. Does anyone else have any ideas what I can tell this nit-wit. I don't get it. I dangle a 3500 dollar check in front of their faces and they don't know if they can remove the collection notation!!!! Drives me crazy!!! Big, deep breath. Thanks for the help.

You should be negotiate with the CA... They are the ones reporting the account on your credit file right? Try to get a pay for deletion.. I'm sure they will take the 3500. Is the Bill 3500?

Yes, that's the full amount. It's my understanding from this board that I should have the OC delete the account with the CA. Am I correct in that? They are willing to work with me, I think they are just ignorant to what they can do.
