I want to make a settlement offer with a CA but the OC is reporting this item on my credit report. I've been trying to get thru to them (the OC), but their so big it's like fighting city hall, so it may be better to deal with the CA, No, Yes? How do I make a deal with the CA and handle the OC's original listing as well? No sense paying the CA with that other listing hanging over my head! As of right now, the OC's listing is the only one on my credit report.
You want to deal with whoever owns the debt. If the original creditor is reporting the account they probably own the debt. I would sent the OC a validation letter. Send it certified return recite requested. Good luck.
