I was in a home improvemnt store last month and had two rugs fall on me. They only grazed my face but it knocked my glasses off and hurt my neck. Then next day a lady called from the store and said she was sorry and sent me a $350.00 check. Now I went to the doctor and I had whiplash. Did not need a brace or anything after about 2 weeks my doctor recomended physical therapy. I can not afford that. I have called 2 lawyers and they say there is nothing I can do. I want them to learn from this accident also I still hurt sometimes but I can function in life normally. I want to sue the store but how do I get a lawyer to listen to me. I have not cashed the check. I just need some advice on how to proceed. Or how to get my voice heard. Any advice would be helpful.
I think you got pretty good legal advice!Also how long did you wait until you went to the doctor.The one is the store will have a video tape of the accident.Without seeing the tape it will be hard for a lawyer to advise you. This is not legal advise so take it for what its worth.
I went to the doctor 2 days later. All I keep thinking about is what if it had been one of my small children? Or an older person. I hope it was video taped but those can be erased. I just want them to learn from this.
