I have two charge-offs reported by Arrow Financial (Providian and First Premier). I am thinking about asking for validation but they are within SOL until 8/03. The amounts are pretty high $676 and $1061.
They have never called or sent dunning letters to my knowledge but I don't want to risk them trying to obtain a judgement.
Any suggestions here would be appreciated.

With the SOL that close I'd recommend just waiting it out if you don't have an immediate need to go to war with them. But you had also best be certain that you know which SOL you are talking about and how it applies to you and the state you live in. Don't make a mistake with this. There are several different SOL definitions so be sure you know what you are talking about.

My gf also has a collection from arrow that she doesn't recognize, it says A.F.S. Assignee of GE.
Anyone know what GE stands for?

I also think since you are so close to sol, you should wait. From the previous posts I read about Arrow, they are pretty nasty.

GE is probably GE Capital. They have a lot of credit cards - one that comes to mind is JC Penneys.

I looked all over for the SOL for open end accounts in Ohio and saw several different numbers. I used 4 years based on the info provided on Whychat's website. The lack of SOL info is why I haven't touched them yet and also because of all the info I got about how bad Arrow can be by searching this board.

Does Whychat have a link over to http://www.lawdog.com on her board? Lawdog also gives the SOL and other laws for all states. That might help you too if Whychat don't have it on her board.

If you can't find the link on lawdog let me know and I will give you another link that will lead you to the right page.

    Thanks,
I did not see the link on Whychats site. After looking at the Lawdog site, I am still confused. Is a credit card considered a written contract because if so the SOL for Ohio is 15 years and that doesn't seem right?

Here's another link for the sol http://www.cardreport.com/laws/credit-laws.html
I had two accounts that arrow had. I made sure the sol was passed and sent them validation letters. They did not respond in the 30 day time frame so I sent them another letter ( I'll sue you) with a 3 day cut off. They faxed me a letter stating they would delete with a copy of the udf.

I did a search in here under arrow, damn they are a shadey company!!! anyone want to share their experiences in dealing with them. From what I gather, a lot of people disputed with Arrow via validation but did not post back the results. I am thinking about disputing and sending off validations. Any suggestions or recommandations would be helpful.
