Well, I broke rule number one and have been dealing with someone at Arrow Financial. Then, I broke rule number two and set up payments using post dated checks. I know you shouldn't do this, but I want to get this taken care of and they wouldn't take NO. So, I had prior arrangements set up for $325 a month and then called back to see if they could lower that to $200 a month. They agreed and assured me that the $325 payment would be cancelled and would not go through. Well, guess what...it went through and now my bank account is short $325 that I really need right now. I called and the lady that handles my account won't be back until the morning. Is there any chance they'll reverse this payment? Is there any kind of ammunition I can use here? I appreciate the help. Thanks
Have they reported this account to the CRA's yet? Did you request validation? How much are they claiming you owe? If they haven't reported to the bureaus, you can "renegotiate" the amounts. For the future, never negotiate with a CA.
Well, lesson learned. Luckily my bank stopped payment on the debit when I told them that I didn't authorize the payment. I sent Arrow a certified, return receipt cease and desist letter and told them that I would be dealing directly with the original creditor from now on...that ought to make them mad. My question now is, can Arrow sue me or anything since I originally was going to pay them? Thanks!
