I have a collection item for an old nsf check for a dentist payment that my wife took my kids to. I sent a couple of letters requesting proof of the collection item. They sent me back a copy of the dentist statement with a hand written note saying the check was returned. I sent a letter back to the CA saying the this was not sufficent proof. I need a copy of the nsf check. There response was that they do not have a copy but based on the info they already supplied, I owe the money. And, unless I prove that the NSF check was paid, they will not remove the collection item. What should be my next step?
Did your bank say you BOUNCED a check??? If they PAID it, the DENTIST can't get paid twice... Do you have a BOUNCED CHECK FEE???
