I have been working on my credit since January. My best report is now Experian - I did have 16 derogs. Now I am down to only 3 negatives and I now have 5 positives (including my car loan and my mortgage which are both open/never late). But my score is only 580. The three negatives are charged off credit cards - Providian, First Premier, and Capital One. (Yes... I was very bad - I had them all.) The total amount owed for these three combined is only about $1500. I have disputed and disputed, they all come back verified. I have sent validation letters, no response. I would be happy to pay them if they would delete them, but I don't want to own up to it until I have to. Does anyone have any advice as to how I can get these things off my credit report or at least get to a starting point? Thanks.

for cap one, I would try planetfeedback. Mr. Cooke will not remove the entry, but will either move it to an r5 or give you anothe cap one credit card after you pay it off. With providian and first premier, I really don't know. search the board for providian, other folks here have had some success with them.
