help with citibank, need reply pls.

    Citibank send me a letter on 1-18 asking for addl info: utility bill, original telephone bill and paystub. I sent in the requested items and called back on 2/1.

    Lady told me they rec'd my info and my application was approved. Next day on 2/2 (sat) the system rejected me for high debt burdenance. When I called back on Monday 2/4 the rep saw where I had spoke to the previous rep and she had notated that I was approved. He put me on hold and spoke to the supervisor who informed me that because I was told I was approved that they would go ahead and override my application and give an approval.

    They sent me a welcome letter on 2/5. It said I would receive my card in 7-10 days from the date on the letter which was 2/5. I called on Friday 2/8 and had them check the status, still approved but card account number had not be generated.

    Today I called them 2/10 and spoke to customer service, gave them my social and no acct was found so that means no account number has been assigned yet. Tomorrow is 2/11. If they haven't even generated an account number as of yet the card could not be ordered and sent out. The deadline giving 10 days from the date of the letter 2/5 would mean the card is due in my hands by 2/15 which means they only have Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri for it to get here.

    I'm wondering why it is taking so long for it to generate my account number and download to customer service. When I asked the rep how long it takes for the acct number to be assigned he said 3 to 5 days. It's been 6 now including the weekend days.

    Any thoughts??? I hate to keep calling them but would like to recieve my card within the time frame they promised.

    My account numbers were generated in 30 seconds~~~"BDD"

    Call back get names so if you got to call again you can talk to that person,also go over there head and talk to there boss. Be nice

    Call the Citibank New accounts dept and to find out the status of the application:
    1-301-733-5501 (new accounts,credit dept).
