out some validation letters to some CA's . now if and when they come back with valadation, I would like to try to make an agreement with them that if I pay them or have a payment plan agreement with them , that hey would take these items off my CR. Is there a good sample letter on this somewhere that I can use as a guide? I want to be tactful yet forcefull Laurie
Here's a recent one, there are others: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42584
jlynn: I have been posting on almost the same subject. I just validated as well and would be interested in a letter suggestingsettlement as well, but the letter states "It is not to be coinstrued as an acknowledgment of liability for this debt in any form". Do I leave that in even if the debt is really mine? Thanks.
There is a logic to this, and I probably dont understand it completely. But, if they reject your settlement offer, you do not want them to use the offer against you in the future as evidence of your admission to the debt. I interpret it to mean you are neutral (I'm not admitting its mine, yet I'm not denying it either). If I'm wrong here, somebody correct me please.
Thanks jlynn for your quick response. I will leave it in unless someone posts further regarding a reason not to. I just validated two daysa ago, so I won't be needing it immediately. (apologies for my typos in past post!).
