I just received a new TU report in the mail today, and I am confused about what I see, or rather yet, by what I don't see: Anything!!! All I have is a 2 page report. The basic: what some creditors might view as adverse, etc etc. Only 4 tradelines listed!! Out of the four they list, Nissan and Sears have a new closed date for the 4th time. They keep reaging these 2 in perticular! turn my report over and it is just the special message and initiate an investigation block. There are NO positive tradelines or inquiries listed!! My old TU reports are about 7 or 8 pages and says that I have been in their files since 9/94. Todays report says I have been in their files since 4/03. My old report and new report have the same file number. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I have not been disputing excesively through them! What gives?? IS this a split and if so what causes this?
This sounds like a split file. It happended to me too. On mine what caused it was the info entered was a little different. The address was off by a few digits and they left out my middle initial. This is why some people claim you set up a new credit file by altering the indentification a little. I haven't tried it, but I know others that have. You have a few choices. 1. Leave it alone 2. Report it to TU 3. Sue TU There are probably other choices that others here will mention.
I haven't gotten to experience the pleasures of this yet. But my suggestion would be to search on split files and TU - I know they can fix it. You may have to sue, but you need to get the two back together again. Good luck! Off topic - From one jeeper to another - I'm looking for a really cool bumper sticker that says "If You Can Read This, Please Roll Me Over". Have you ever seen it, or know of an online site that might carry it?
