Have a cross country bank charge off which began 30 days late back in 2002. Live in Georgia and credit cards are sol after 4 years. According to one credit report - it went sol in October 2007, another credit report claims January 2008. No one that has tried to collect on it through the years could provide any validation and stopped collecting. Just received a collection notice from CBCS in Ohio attempting to collect on this old debt. What do I do now? Is there a particular letter I send to them, or just the usual validation letter I used when other agencies tried to collect within the sol? Also, what do I do about the conflicting SOL dates listed on the credit reports? Thank you for any assistance.
