Hi. I have been reading through everything for weeks now and have found some great information. I have a ch 7 bk from 10/98. I want to try and get it deleted. I have searched through the sample letters and can not for the life of me find one to fit this situation. I know there is one out there. Also, do I send a general letter for all bk accounts and then the public record or a separate letter for each account that I want deleted. And I should pull my reports right before sending the letters because they will ask for a report # right? Oh, and should I contact one agency at a time or just dig in and write to all three?

Oh, just a side note, I always pull my reports and on one it states filed ch 13 bk which is totally false so that should definitely get deleted right? My scores seem to fall lower as time goes on. Thanks a lot for any help you can give!

Correct me if I am wrong, but there are numerous questions in your post.
First, get copies of all of your credit reports.
Have all prior addresses associated with your bankruptcy removed. I have been able to do this by call all the CRA's and simply stating that the following addresses are incorrect. If you have a lot of them, do some one day, wait about 5 days, then do others.
When all your old addresses are gone, dispute it with the CRA's, trying "not mine" first. You will not need a credit bureau report number to do this.

1*do I send a general letter for all bk accounts
2*do I send the public record or a separate letter for each account that I want deleted.
3*contact one agency at a time or just dig in and write to all three?

1*-No - just dispute. You are collecting info not giving it out.
2*Never Send a CA any public record - that's a good way to keep it on your reports for the full 7 to 10 years.
3*You can dispute with all 3 at once but don't just blunder in [Dig in)!

You want to watch how you go about this or you may nail the BK to your reports but goods.

Thank you. Well, I didn't mean to send my records to the cra's, what I meant was should I dispute the actual bk being listed as public record stating the bk on the report, in addition to the separate credit card accounts.

I am assuming you mean home addresses, I've only lived one place my whole life so that won't work.

So is there not a sample letter?? I just write the letter disputing the bankruptcy period?? This is confusing!! But thank you for any help.
