A friend of mine has an item that he feels shouldn't be appearing on his credit report.

In 1998 he deposited $650 for an apartment on a 6 month short term lease, with monthly payments of $475. He kept paying until Mar of 2000, he left. Because he did not give two months notice, they refused to give him $650 deposit, so he didn't pay him the last months rent of $475.

So, now, he pulled his credit and he has a "D.R.S. Bonded Collections" for $310. He called DRS and they told him it was from the apartment thing in 2000.

He needs this off his credit report and we would like to figure out how to start doing this.

delete the old address from his report, then dispute the item as not his and see what happens.
