I pulled my report the other day and found a couple of things. I have an ongoing loan for my car that I didn't pay a couple of months, it's a long story, someone else was managing it and they didn't do such a good job. I have the $274 to bring it current, but there is a mark for 60 days late on my report. If I pay it will that mark go away? Or will the 60 days late always show up on it? Can I work something out with the bank if I pay it they remove it? Also, I have a store card with target for 200 dollar limit. I went over and owe 350 on it (don't know how that happened but..) and I neglected to pay it last month. I have the $90 to bring it current, but that, also, shows as 30 days late. Should I work something out with them? I want to get my credit with NO negatives, those are the only two problems I have on it. Thanks for reading and thanks for any and all replies.
First thing you need to do is pay both of your accounts current. That will keep them from being reported as any later. The sad news is that no, even when you pay them, your file will still show the two late marks. BUT, as you continue to make on-time payments, their importance to your overall scores will lessen. It's not great to have late marks on your credit, but it's certainly not the end of the world. Just keep paying on time! Good luck Poochie
