First, I'd like to say I've been reading the posts here for a while and have followed some very good advice! Thank you all! Anyway....this is truely bizzare. I own my home and have been in the same house for 11+ yrs. I went through a divorce last year and my CR's now show my ex's address as MY current address. I have written to them twice and they still show the same thing. The second time I wrote, I demanded that they change my address info and they STILL haven't! The bizzare part....they are ALL writing to me at the CORRECT address...the one I live at now and have always been at! How stupid is that? Wow that is pretty strange. I'm getting ready to dispute some of my former addresses. I think there are about 10 of them that are totally wrong Andi Will post my scores when I get them
When you say you "have written"...what did you write? I would send the dispute form sent with your report under the personal info, dispute the former address saying "not mine/never lived there". Include a copy of a utility bill with all the info blacked out except for the utility company name and your name and current address...or a copy of your drivers license with all the info blacked out except for your state, your face, and your address. It sometimes takes a couple disputes...but addresses will fall by sheer nmber of submissions...used to be really easy to dispute addresses and have them fall, now it seems to be a chance thing. I had added this line to the dispute letter I sent them. I wrote: Furthermore, I have lived at ADDRESS, CITY/STATE for over the last 11 years and have NEVER lived at ADDRESS, CITY/STATE that you show. I demand that this false information be removed immediately. Do I need to send them proof of the last 11 years? I think that if I send them just one of my latest utility bills, they could correctly show my current address and then possibly list my ex's as previous? I don't want that either! mysti_summer
I went through a divorce last year and my CR's now show my ex's address as MY current address. Is it possible that your EX has applied for credit in your name? Or listed you jointly on a new account for themselves? Are you listed as an AU on any of their accounts? There has to be a link somewhere for their address to be on your report.
There's nothing on my report that I don't know about or have never seen....although I have no way to find out what's on his! I guess all I can do is keep disputing and hope eventually someone gets a clue!
