On July 2, 2001, American Express will replace the existing AmexOL
Internet service fee structure and implement a simple pricing arrangement.
For the first 75 hours of Internet usage each monthly billing period you
will be charged $12.95. If your Internet usage exceeds 75 hours for any
monthly billing period, you will be charged $29.95 for that period

hope you cancelled your membership already!

    AMEXOL/CANCELLING NOW AS I TYPE!

Thanks Sam! IF I didn't have a DSL account with the local RBOC and AOL - the price was reasonable - particularly with no speed limits.

BUT - if you had not posted this today, I would have been charged. I shall send you the $12.95 every month for your efforts, OK?

only have 2 ISPs now Sam - dogman :)

It was a good BETA run while it lasted.

Hey Dog.....I'm doing as well as can be expected, all things considered. Just waiting for the next set of heads to roll here at my job on 7/13! Isn't that some messed up stuff...to get laid off on Friday the 13th?

I'm trying to see about taking Thursday and Friday off since we have Wednesday off only. I'll take the kiddies to Great America like we do every year to see the fireworks. They love it.

Re: AMEXOL/CANCELLING NOW AS I TYPE!

    So,
What would happen if I got home and logged on to the web using American Express? Would it come up with a screen stating the new pricing arrangement and give me an option to delete Amex if I wanted to or would I begin to be charged without warning and have to pay the fees because I didn't know. Now I know, but lets just say I went home and logged on and I didn't know. Any comments would be appreciated.

I have AT&T @home, but also have this ISP for backup dial-up. It's $10.83/month, including tax (otherwise "$10 buck a month", which is their slogan).

    It's called "Everyone's Internet" at http://www.ev1.net.

Unlimited dial-up, 20 additional email addresses and webmail, too.
