I was wondering if anyone has had any luck in getting Household Bank to reconsider a denied GM card application. Having heard that the GM card was â??purely score-based,â? I applied online after EQ updated my file for the first time in 6 months, to spit out a FICO of 705. I have two closed (paid in full) accounts on there, and a CC which is new and has just started reporting. No derogs. 3 inqs in the past 6 months. The reasons HH gave for denial: â??â?number of inqs within last 6 monthsâ?? and â??residence type.â? This last one has left me very confused, btw. I called and talked to a Lending Services supervisor. No go (they â??need to see more of a historyâ?). Decided to be persistent and e-mailed them with a plea to reconsider shortly afterwards, no answer yet. Finally, I faxed a similar plea letter to Donna Dion, a HH Executive Liaison (found her contact info elsewhere on this board). Still waiting on that, too. Back to the question above: has anyone been able to get them to reconsider, through any of the above channels or in some other way? Many thanks.
What was your "residence type"? I have heard of some places denying an application if you have an APO (military mailing addy) and sometimes a PO Box. I just applied for an Amex Corp Card last week and listed my PO Box as my home/billing address. The Program Administrator at my company called and said they have to have my physical address. I tried to explain to her that my utilities, credit card bills and paycheck all reflect the PO Box. She didn't want to here it so I had to pony up my physical address. Maybe someone else can chime in on the account questions you had. Good luck!
I have believe it or not dealt with Household a couple of years ago and they won't budge and are complete A**holes. Once paid I had to sue and then got what i wanted, I know this is off topic but that is my experience with them. My wife just applied and was approved for a GM Card with a $5000.00 limit with a 710 FICO. If they won't give you credit, how does your TransUnion report look?? I applied for a BoFA and was denied at first due to too new credit history, this happens when you get rid of all of your derogs. I wrote a letter via Planet Feedback and Robin Brickland from their executive office called me and I spoke with her. I faxed her my W2 and in 7 days got a BoFA card with a $3000.00 limit. If your TU is clean I would defiently give BoFA a try, they have won me over and they will have my business forever! Tac
