I have a BOA 30 day late on my CR, anyone have any advice on getting one removed? I know all of the normal tricks but BOA is a totally different animal... So i need someone that understands or has dealt with BOA on this topic.

The sad part is I actually made the payment online like I always do but during that month my internet was intermittent and sure enough my payment didnt go through, its total bs and bank of america just blew me off. Charter gave me free internet that month because of the issues with service. Anyhow boa asked for a payment confirmation code, which I dont have and never write down.

This happened last year and i went from a 800 to like 710 fico score. Anyhow i have learned my lesson and all my CC are now on autopay.

I have a pocket full of credit cards and from everything I have read the BOA CC is the worst one for getting any kind of late pay removed....

please help, from a long time creditnetter.
    cheers

Only assistance I can give is that it will need to be done in writing (GWL), sent to a high up exec, and not e-mailed from what I've read in the past.

A regular CSR will blow you off, as you've seen. And yes, it's amazingly dreadful what one 30-day late payment will do to an otherwise flawless credit profile.

Hopefully others will chime in with further information.

Nice to see some of the old-timers back btw.

Yes it is amazing your CS dropped so drastically with a 30 day. Mindcrime is right, it may be the only way to get BOA to give you a break is by writing to them. If you bank with them, it helps to get to know the branch manager or supervisor or even a teller. They are very nice people and may put in a good word with you at the corporate level. I've never had a need to ask to have a 30 day hit taken off my CR but they have forgiven a few late fees and helped straighten out a mess with incorrect charges on a credit card. Might be worth a try.
I work F&I with a dealership and I can tell you in a world of credit decisions made by computers, person to person contact will usually get more favorable results.

    Good luck.
