I first found this site over a year ago but just now signed up for a membership. I have one problem in particular that I would like some advice in how to handle it. On my report there is a charge off for $XX from a cell phone provider. What happened is I ordered a phone (and thus opened an account) online but when over a week later it still hadn't shipped, I canceled the order and went into a store to buy a phone and open an account. A month later I recieved a bill for the first account. I never recieved that phone, never activated it, never used it. I called the carrier and after a couple days worth of phone calls the issue was apparently resolved. Well now there is a charge off for it listed on my report and I am not sure what the best way to go about getting rid of it is. I called them and they told me to dispute it with the credit bureau. It's BS how easily they can put something on but how big a PITA it is to get it removed. Here are the other items on my report that I wouldn't mind recieving advice on, but I understand if you don't want to help. Collection#1 - $205 medical unpaid. Think this is from a not at fault car accident that should have been paid for. Dispute as not mine? Collection#2 - $267 not sure what this is for (unpaid). Dispute as not mine? Collection#3 - $75 medical bill, paid. Not sure what to do about this. Collection#4 - $375 medical bill from the same accident. Dispute as not mine? Collection#5 - $95 unpaid cable bill. My family ran this one up and didn't pay it. Not sure what to do with it. I'm willing to pay the small ones if it would be easier, but the big medical bills were paid by my attorney years ago. Thanks for your time and your help.
