I need to email a collection agency but do not want them to discover my real location. I know there is a way to route your email offshore so that they cannot trace it back to your computer. It was posted here about two weeks ago but I cannot find it. I believe the emails went through the Cayman Islands. Any help is appreciated.

Just search google for "free anonymous surfing" or something like that - there's a ton of them.

Oh, and get an anonymous email account that you don't use for anything else. Keep in mine that you can still be tracked if they have the right software or services for it.

Email itself can only be traced to the server it originated from. Unless you publicly post your information or allow it to be made available via your ISP they cannot track it to your home address. Few ISP's will give personal information out without legal grounds for the request.

Web based email such as hotmail, yahoo, etc. has the greatest anonymity as the information provided to set up the account is not verified in any way.
