LOL Some people on here have made the assumption that I am a debt collector I am not. In case I have been misunderstood by some on here as being "happy" to inform a consumer that they are screwed and the collection agency is RIGHT ON, I AM NOT HAPPY AT ALL. It just reinforces the need for laws to protect consumers. I POINT OUT when a collection agency IS RIGHT, because is it VERY important to know you enemy. If you are dealing with a "retarded" debt collector who does not know the law, then your tactics are different. For example, if you sent an intent to sue letter to a collector who doesnt know the law, then they may actually remove a tradeline etc etc. BUT, if the debt collector is INFORMED and EDUCATED and they receive an intent to sue letter, and CALL YOUR BLUFF, what are you to do? If you know the debt collector is "right", then you have to change your tactics to conform to the law So for the record, I am not a debt collector, I take no joy in seeing a consumer screwed by a debt collector, and I point out "mistakes" or "misguided information" to HELP the consumer. It is hard to tell someone they are wrong, or misinformed, and make it really easy to take. If a consumer is "offended" by being pointed in the right direction, I am sorry
