Has anyone here had any experience with the Cap1 high school card? I am thinking of having my daughter apply for it. I am wondering if I have to have a certain score to guarantee the card for her. I do have a Cap1 account. Thanks for any input!
I got mine last September, and have been very happy with it. In Sep, 00' I got the card upgraded to Gold Status. I also have a 12.9% fixed apr on it now, instead of the 19.8%. Reports to all 3 bureaus monthly, although I've noticed they are sometimes slow. The online bill pay works great. It has helped me establish excellent credit. I would recommend it.
Matty, Were you 16 when you got the card? I think you mentioned before that your Mom co-signed or guaranteed the card. Do you know how good her credit had to be to do this for you? Did they pull a hard inquiry on her report? Thanks for sharing your experience with me. My daughter couldn't believe it when I told her I wanted to get her a credit card!
