My friend and his wife had 33.00 in their joint checking account his wife purchased 30.00 in gas using her check card later that day my friend not knowing his wife purchased gas earlier got 5.00 in gas for his lawn mower using his check card .He was charged a 37.00 nsf fee for his 5.00 gas purchase because they overwithdrew thier account by 2.00.The bank refused to waive the 37.00 fee even though they told the bank they would close their account if they did not waive this fee. There should be a law against charging such high fees for such small overdrafts.
