    George,

Have you considered each of you just contacting BofA separately and asking them to send you the form for converting your account to a joint one with your husband/wife?

Then, after both are joint accounts, call back and ask to have them combined.

    This sounds like 2 "HARD"...

    Sounds like applying for something...

I don't know about BofA because we just got those cards, but we recently converted a Chase account from individual to joint without a hard (or soft either for that matter). All we did was call and ask what we had to do to make the account joint, they sent the form, we completed and signed it. Within a few days it was done.

Form was just for accepting liability for the account.

We were planning to combine and close a second Chase card, but they said it would have to be joint also to combine. (They said that to combine accounts, the ownership of the two accounts must be identical.) We haven't made the 2nd one joint yet because we wanted to try to get a line increase on it first without both of us getting hit with a HARD for the line increase.

Of course this could only be how it works UYG! ::smile::
