Well, I got the denial I was expecting from Citibank on my AAdvantage application. What I wasn't expecting was this...

"We are unable to approve your application. Our records indicated that you have filed for bankruptcy and your Citibank account was included in that filing."

This is too funny. It took them two weeks to deny me based on their internal records??? I really hope they don't find out about the Universal account they gave me a year ago, or the $12.5K Plat Select account!

What year did you file Bk??

Also, what year did you get the Plat. Select?

Don't want to waste an inquiry, thanks.

I filed in December 1988. My Universal account was opened in August 2000; Plat Select in October 2000.

    Thanks for the info.,

It's sort of bizarre how you got the Plat. Sel.

from what I understand their database, "expires"

after some period of time, also, the AT&T is a

seperate database, so they don't cross reference,

    I believe.

Very strange, that they would flag it now, your SS#.

It may be that it's flawed, their system that is.

    Any one with input??

I too have a Plat. card. I applied for AA Silver and Gold and was denied 9/5/01 because of an acct that was included in BK in 89'. They will not tell me anything except to call the collection number. I got the Plat. card in May 01'

Was your bankruptcy showing on the report they pulled for either the universal or plat select?

No. It had been deleted by then.
