Okay today I hit the jackpot. 1) first phone call from a CA since I initiated this clean up effort calling to tell me that they could not find the documentation (validation) that I requested since the OC went out of business but they will settle for 25%... do they think I'm stupid??? 2)letters from 3 CA's all answers to VL but no Documents!! I guess this is what I get for sending 4 at a time. So since they all threw me for a loop I'm fishing for help. Here are the situations: 1. Hospital bill sent to CA. Then CA sends to CA #2. Both show up on reports but with different OC's the first shows it as a hospital bill the other shows the OC as being the first CA. The question is how can I possibly owe them both? Isn't at least the first CA reporting incorrectly? Help! Both have verified with the CRA and both have sent me settlement letters, this debt will be 5yrs old in May but if I could come up with something. which leads me to question #2: 2. Who can and can not add interest? This is a medical bill that was originally for $665.00 CA#1 added 154.58 (TL$819.58) then CA #2 added $469.25 interest + 21.11 fees (TL $1309.94). Why does this not seem like it could be legal? $644+ in interest on a medical bill? Yikes! I have so many more questions but these will get me started. just looking for guidance/ where to look for answers. Thanks
Yes, I have disputed them all everything came back verified (probably because they are listed as different OC's with different balances). My question is what can I say to the first CA to make them see the error of their ways? Anything?
-> Judgement Calculator! Well, ... lets try this. Go above and type in the original amount, and try some different interest rates until you get to what they're claiming you owe now. (See if I can keep this thing workin). lol
Nifty!! okay so apparently they're claiming I owe almost 54% interest?! They must have been talking to the CA that's trying to get me to settle on a debt they admit they don't have and can never get I'm going to try sending off a letter requesting their accounting of this debt and see where that gets me!
