9.99% is the lowest go-to they can offer, I think. On the website it's the rate in big print, but in the T&C they state that your rate may vary. I jumped on the bandwagon last night and applied, figuring with a 724 FICO I'd have a good shot. I got the "needs further processing" message. Phooey. :(

    Beaker,

I will not worry too much about that message. I know quite few people got that and still got the card. I actually got that message and had to call to find out the good news so i will not worry too much.

Thanks! I need encouragement after being denied for the Citi AA. I wrote them via PFB last week and nobody has gotten back to me yet. I guess I should call, but I hate having to plead my case to someone over the phone--I'm more convincing on paper. Guess I don't have that whole sexy talk approach down yet, LOL. :p

I also got the pending message from State Farm. I think I need to stop applying! Whoever said it's addictive is definitely right! I wanted new trades to better my ratios, and the Juniper for the BT offer. Ah well, I'll cross my fingers!

    Beaker,

They pulled equifax on me and your score looks decent so i think you should be ok.

    Beaker,

It's taking 5-7 days for them to approve. I just constantly called and was a pain and they put mine through in 4 days. Hubby applied the day after I was approved and it's been over a week and we still haven't heard anything. With a 724 you shouldn't have any problem. Good luck and keep us posted.

If you have a 724, you should get it, my school was a 682 when I applied on 12/24/01.

I got that needs further processing message too and just thought oh well wasted another inquiry, but I got the message yesterday that I got the card. So it took 8 days.

Dani, I dont have citibank just yet and I hope I dont get it. I have all the credit I need right now, I have no need for several high cards because they dont serve a purpose to me, so it would be nice not to have any more denials, but I dont know, Citibank did close my old account on me, they may look back at that and say a simple no, but it's fine with me.

I had my aria open since March of 01. Will that look screwy if I close it now? My credit limit did go from 1000 to 1650 in like three months, but still...i dont know.

Oops, I saw the Citibank Visa and I didn't read the closed caption. Are you paying a fee on the Aria? If so, wait a month prior to the renewal date and close it. If not, it doesn't hurt to keep it open and just make small purchases on it and pay it off in full each month.

oops in my above post, i said my school is a 682, of course i meant score...i am not one to proofread.

yeah i had citibank and they were really good, i was amazed at how, ok paying the accoutns through ameridebt andf citibank was the last one due, i think it was due on the 1st and everything else was due like the 28th and 30th and citibank was the only one never late, but everything before it was late.

My aria fee, i think my fee is 49 dollars. My capital one is either 49 or 59 dollars.

    Aria 1000/1650
    CO 400/700

    superadman,
If you really want the Juniper (why waste a hard inquiry?) then call and ask for reconsideration. When I applied they denied me but when I called they discovered, looking at a real copy (not just numbers in a computer) that they had a problem with how their system pulled the info in from EQ and they said it looked to them like I didn't have enough open accts which is one of their factors. Ask for human consideration. They will pull another EQ profile, hard, but they will take it back off if you complain after the fact which they did for me since the ONE application for credit resulted in TWO hard inquiries.

Thank you for that, I will certainly be calling them tomorrow.

On second thought, I might wait until Friday. I just learned that my EX climbed 12 points again to 725 overnight but my EQ plummeted a ridiculous 66 points for no apparent reason down to 631! :(
