Congrats! Hubby applied in the store and was denied. His fako scores are 780, 720, 780. No derogs at all. Two days later when he applied for Chase platinum he received a 10,000 cl with them. Still waiting for denial letter from Home Depot. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Guess we will go to Lowe's ... lol. Laurie
I think Home Depot is Citibank. Did your husband ever have a chargeoff or anything from them? When you get the letter, ask for a reconsideration from the retention dept, or use PFB.
Laurie, that's strange that your husband was declined. Those are great scores he has. Did he ask for reconsideration ?
Ok I just noticed I transposed Home Depot and Lowe's. He applied at Lowe's and was denied. Didn't try Home Depot. What an idiot I am !! LOL Anyhow, his scores are awesome. He's never had a charge off. We filed bankruptcy, chapt 7, discharged in 94. The only people on the bankruptcy were National City, med bills, Beneficial and Sears. The bankruptcy fell off earlier this year but he already had established credit through a credit union so his scores had been in the low 700's for a couple of years even with the bankruptcy showing. Can't figure some places out. I will definitely let you know what they say when the denial letter comes. He won't bother with reconsideration because he figures "screw them if they don't want my money" lol. Laurie
