I applied online for a Home Depot card yesterday and received an insulting $300.00 credit limit. I called today to cancel it. The only reason why I even considered it was because of the 0% promotion. They looked at my account and said that unfortunately they couldn't raise my limit.
They pulled Experian. My CE score is 667, and my mortgage score was the same (shocking...I know).

I know that 660s are not great, but it got me over $22000.00 with Citibank. It is sad considering that you can only purchase at their store, and they are more strict than some major CC companies. Their initial APR is 21% too! Geez. Well, I guess I am a Lowe's guy from this day forward....

Home Depot is cool place to shop but if they pull Experian I'll be denied. No biggie because $300 their ain't much to spend.

Too bad you didn't sign up for a bunch of home repairs (contingent) on the credit limit being $5,000 OR MORE...

They would have been REALLY "TICKED" AT LOOSING THE SALE!!!
