NOt asking for any advice here, just a general statement of how once again, I'm screwed because of my credit score! My homeowner's insurance is escrowed in with my housepayment. My yearly renewal was a couple of weeks ago. It literally more than DOUBLED and I got a letter informing me the direct cause was my credit score. Pathetic.
Hi Dixie =D, nice to meet another nurse here! I so know what you mean with the house insurance. We just bought a house and during the process we had to find homeowner's insurance. Like you it is escrowed in. When I started I had no clue that credit was even looked at I had an initial quote of 850 raised to 1200 due to credit issues. That sucked. Do you have auto with the house ins company? My ins company gave us a 250 discount for putting our autos in their hands too. I wonder if you could call your finance company & asked if you can switch insurance companies? Then do some shopping around for a cheaper rate? I called a whole whole bunch of companies and got quotes. They do soft pulls so it should'nt hurt much. Since I am not a advertiser and just a consumer I can tell you which companies gave me the best & worst quotes. I live in Texas btw. Farmer's - awful! State Farm - awful! Allstate - yuck! Geico - terrible! Local small agency - they checked several companies and gave cheaper rates than those above. Germania - was a close runnerup Nationwide- gave me the best quote. We put our cars there too. Hope this helps a little. Call your finance company, you should'nt be forced to carry high insurance if you don't have to. Pardon me if I sound a lil whacky. Hard shift last night =( Tegleg
