Here's a bit of proof the people working at Experian aren't all that bad: Disputed Four items twice online, all came back verified in November/December '01. Disputed Incorrect Addresses (about 7 of them), all came back as verified in Nov/Dec '01!? Disputed Spouse information, same thing. They said I was married in Nov/Dec. Disputed Name spelling on my report. Said it was all correct!? Disputed SSN variation that doesn't even exist, said that was my SSN!? One call today: Three Deletions (one was already removed by the original creditor). Fixed Incorrect addresses, of course I have to call them back, I need to dispute two more. Fixed Spouse information, GONE. Fixed all the spelling variations, now only the correct spellings are listed. Removed SSN Variation. One call, nice gentleman from Africa. Heavy accent though. Had a nice conversation. Checked on the disputes 15 minutes later online. Sure enough everything is in dispute. Check back again a few minutes ago and guess what?! Presto, one nice sqeaky clean report w/o any disputes and only two addresses that need removing which I will complete on Monday. I was in a PO'd mood when I first got on the phone, but I figured hey it's not his fault and was really nice to him. I guess he was extremely nice back, he even gave me his extension number in case I had any further problems. (Sorry guys, I promised not to devulge, besides they are watching..). Be nice to them, and they may just make your day.
I do not understand how they could keep all those misspellings on a report in the place. They have about a million variations of an old address of mine, but Im leaving it for now, bigger fish to fry! And SSN variation? How the hell are they verifying that? I have one of those on my reports, man they are fools.
I am always nice to the person who answers the phone, no matter how angry I am. Sometimes it gets me what I want, sometimes it doesn't. Either way, nice is better. Screaming at someone doesn't help solve the problem. Even when I threaten to sue people, I do it politely.
