I'm so excited. I posted on here about 10 days ago wondering if I should send a letter to MBNA to see if they'd make a goodwill adjustment and remove about 7 late pays I had on my 2 accounts from late 1998 and early 1999. Today I got a call from their executive satisfaction center and they told me they were going to go right ahead and honor my request. The rep, Lisa, told me they valued me as a customer and would make the adjustment to all 3 CRAs and send me a letter detailing what they had done, This just proves again why I think MBNA has about the best service of all!!
Hooray for you.. would you tell them that my 23,500 in Credit Line is STILL sitting unused since January.. because the wont make me a decent balance transfer deal?
Wow, Great!. I do like MBNA, they are very aggressive with their teaser rates and that is my game. www.creditsense.com
MBNA won't do squat for me and I have had them as converted First Union since 1984. I even wrote to them in February via planet feedback.com.. a call came a few days later. "the. best we have for you Mrs. E.. is the 9.99 on going. and we occasionalyl send out BT offers.. the last was 5.9% for 6 months. .. no thanks.. I said," I guess MBNA can't help right now when I have 4.75% prime for life with BofA and 3.9% until paid w/ CITI Bank, if you want my buisness you are going to have to compete for it" I have heard nothing from them since.
You are doing the right thing. Let them compete. There is nothing wrong with 9.9%, except if you are getting 0%, 3.9% and prime +0%. But, I'll take anything under 10 and exercise it, that is what I do and I love it. www.creditsense.com
That's very strange. My Plat. Plus card with MBNA has a 9.90 APR and has a BT and cash advance rate of 1.74% until November. You should give them a call and ask them about it.
I have the Platinum Plus University of Michigan Alumni card. Has 9.90% Fixed and a 1.74% BT until 11/02. I received this rate (down from 11.99%) when I called at the end of April. Bryan
I'd rather have the Platinum Plus Ohio State University card. Go Bucks! On a more serious note, can you post the letter you sent via PFB to get the goodwill change? I'd like to give that a try. Thanks, jmart
No problem...here's the letter I used: Dear Mr. Lerner: I have been an MBNA customer since 1995 and during that time, I have enjoyed my experience with MBNA greatly. I am writing to see if you would be willing to make a â??goodwillâ? adjustment to your reporting to the three credit agencies. I have a few late payments on the above referenced accounts that date back to 1998 and 1999. All but 1 of the late payments are 30 day lates. Since that time I have been an exceptional customer paying early every month and have been rewarded by MBNA with ever increasing limits and lower APRs. Because of my exceptional payment history over the last 3 years, I would like you to consider removing the negative payments from my credit report. At the time of those late payments, I was a full time college student without a job. I say that not to justify why the payments were late, but rather to show that the late payments are not a good indicator of my actual credit worthiness. I hope that MBNA is willing to work with me on erasing these marks from my credit reports. I have been a very happy customer in the past and hope to continue a long relationship with MBNA. With todayâ??s credit industry so competitive, I know how important it is to maintain good relationships with customers. MBNA has been exceptional in my book so far and I highly recommend it to all my friends and relatives. I hope that you will deeply consider my request and prove once again, why MBNA is heads above the rest. I look forward to your reply.
Had to look.. but I do have PLATINUM PLUS VISA. I misspoke about the 5.9 yesterday that was offer before last.. The LAST offer we got was 4.7 until June. I don't see a date on the offer, but I think it came in March. 'pay your taxes w/the inclosed checks".. By not taking the offers right away do you think they might make them sweeter? The 1.7 offer, when did you get this? That is something I might be interested in getting.
Oh also these MBNA offers always come with that 3% fee so for just a few months moving a large balance would probably not be worth it.
I don't see why not....you can always call them and ask. I've switched cards several times without a problem.
Also, I have the Platinum Plus Mastercard...not sure if there's a difference between Visa and MC rates or not.
It's just that I have NO connection to OSU, except I have been to CINCINNATI and COLUMBUS airports...
Congrats!!!! I did this for my wife. She had 4-30 day lates on her CR's. I received a letter in the mail yesterday saying that they will remove all late pays from each CRA in 15 to 30 days!!!!! My wife is VERY excited. On a sad note, MBNA did pull a "hard" inquiry though. I'm a little pissed about that.
Congrats to your wife also! That's strange with the hard inquiry. MBNA only pulled a soft inquiry for me on all the reports.
