If I'm correct the Hope Tax Credit does not have to be deducted from 1999's 1040 if you received a refund back from the IRS. The university/college should have sent last year's tutition information to you sometime in early 2001 that you can deduct on 2000's 1040. Sorry I messed up. Hope Tax Credit does not have to be deducted on 2000's 1040 if you received a refund for 1999's 1040. It's been a long day.
