freaking Equifax Check Services, or Certegy. I posted this before. see if u guys can give me some ideas; 1. CompUSA said I owed them for a 42.00 check from 97. 2. It is on my EQ report as 67.00. I contact to make payment arrangements and pay in Jun2001 3. In july it is stall on my report as unpaid. I order copy of postal M.O. and mail copy that EQ cashed check. 4. I fax, call and mail numerous times but they still are showing it as unpaid collection. I even dispute. 5. last month I send every ducument I had against them to their office. no response. KICKER: I find out last nite they sold my debt to NCO in March2002!! WTF!! I paid them in June2001 I just filed FTC and AG complaints this morning. Should I proceed with lawsuit?? thx
As long as you have proof you paid... if they're not responding to you... sue them. NOW. they'll respond then. Do you have any actual damages? denied for credit within the last 12 mos? If not, do that then sue. You want actual damages and you want someone other than you to see the errors in your file so you can sue (def: file: not your copy) so you can't sue just b/c YOU see something you don't like... a creditor has to see it for you to sue under the FCRA.
yea I have a few denials from companies stating charg-offs as 1 reson that I can not receive credit. I thought I could get them on violations.
