    Is this why their system is down? I have been trying to check the progress of an investigation for the last couple of hours and their system is down.

    I think that's why you can't get online access to your Experian credit report, today.

    "Our online credit report service is temporarily unavailable while our system undergoes maintenance. Please try again later, or you may call 1 800 311 4769 to order your personal credit report to be delivered by U.S. Mail. If you already have a current copy of your personal credit report from Experian, call the telephone number on your report for all other services."

    Hopefully, your reports weren't among those stolen. Could it be that they locked down those they think were stolen? I've had no problems getting mine all day.

    Well--

    I can view mine again (WITH IE)

    So this IE patch problem is definitely limited to FICO. Very interesting that the actual credit report
    is secure enough to make it through the patch,
    but that the FICO score page (which contains
    both secure and non-secure info) is not.

    I'm glad that I can use Netscape.

    I was unable to view mine up until a 1/2 hour ago. I hope my report was not stolen,I just got done cleaning that one up.....lol

    EX not exactly hacked. It certainly isn't Experian's security at issue here, it is Ford Motor Credit's security.

    I called Exp today and the rep I spoke said the ones that were affected got a letter in the mail.

    She said one lady had called her. Someone pretending to be an employee from Ford Motor Credit called her and asked for her SSN and other info. she didn't give it to them. So, if you were affected you should have received a letter from Ford Motor Credit.

    Also, she said some of the computers were down.

    I wonder how come they openly admit it. After all, "inquiries are simply a record of fact", as Experian's deceitful new dispute menu suggests.
