If you get a reservation for a KING bed...you get a E-MAIL CONFIRMAINATION and when you get there they can't find it...they give you a QUEEN 2 ROOM SUITE for the same price as the KING...

    QUEEN SINGLE WAS ~$18 LESS...

    DID I GET RIPPED OFF???

I think so...the second room was USELESS (to us)!!!

Did they completely lose your reservation? When you say you want a King, Queen, etc. its only stating your preference its not guaranteed.

IN my experiance if I reserved a type of room and didn't get it they usually give me a discount without much of a hassle, unless it is upgraded to a better room.

It is up for DEBATE if I got a better room...
I wanted a KING @ about $18.00 higher than a QUEEN and got a 2 ROOM QUEEN SUITE (so they called it)...

Call their 1-800 number and complain if they are a franchise (like Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn). At most, they will refund your money completely. You didn't get ripped off--just bad customer service on their part.

I once had a girl at (I think it was a Hilton) in Los Angeles explain to me how they "reserved" rooms.

They count on a certain amount of no-shows, and give priority to those of us paying the most $ for our rooms.

So, if I reserve a King Suite two months in advance for $109, but someone walks in just ahead of me, demands a King Suite, and is willing to pay $209 for it, they get my room.

Should I show up, the hotel can then upgrade me or give me or free junk to comp for my time & trouble. They still make maximum $ out of us both.

My opinion: they did the best they could to get you in a decent room. Someone else got your rightful room, but I'll bet they paid a premium for it.

I stay in hotels ~10 nights out of every month, all I ever ask for is nonsmoking floors, lowest possible. 80% of the time I get what I ask for. The other 20, you bet I'm on the highest available smoking floor. Win some, lose some.

The only time I ever gripe is the once a year or so I am in Vegas--they will compensate me with things like show tickets and gambling credits. :)
