I am sitting here in my first home checking these boards tonight as a happy man. I started repairing my credit about 3-4 years ago, got some cards (FCNB, Providian, Household) and started charging and paying. Over the past 2 years I got a Target Visa and BofA Signature Card. Well, I went home shopping and found a decent house at a decent price (up here in New England, houses are outrageous) and got preapproved for a mortgage at 5.6% with 10% down and a second mortgage for 10%. I closed on the house last week and just moved in, now we just just have to start unpacking! These successes are due in a large part to you folks out there. Please accept my thanks! My scores are in the high 600s and low 700s so they still can improve more. For those of you out there that still have a ways to go, my advice is not to despair, keep at it! Again, thanks to all!
