Has anyone had problems with not receiving their bill on time from Best Buy? I have a 12 month same as cash deal that I am 6 months into with them and have not been receiving my bill within the 10 days (think that's the right number) before due date required by the Fair Credit Billing Act. They rec'd a payment 2 days late and now want to charge me interest from day one! No way! Wondered if this was a ploy that some companies use to make more money. cariba
Call them, explain this, and they may reinstate (one time only). If not, PFB them and then contact the bank regulator (contact info is printed on the statement somewhere). In any event - set up auto-pay to ensure you're not late. It's not their fault for the mail being late (that's what they will say) ... so take control of what you can. Good luck, mj
This is pretty typical of them. They wait until the week before the bill is due to send you a statement. I just mail the payment 7-10 days before it is due (with or without the statement...most of the time it is without). What I really don't like about the card (Best Buy & CompUSA) is that you cannot pay your bill in the store...you can only mail it in and they don't have Internet payment options either. Dani
Thanks for the responses. I never mail payments without reviewing a bill--review the Fair Credit Billing Act--you have to receive statements within a certain number of days BEFORE the due date. I will definitely call them tomorrow and get it ironed out. Has put a bad taste in my mouth, and I may just pay it off and not use it (need the high limit to help my ratios!) Thanks again! cariba
I just received my new and improved Best Buy statement yesterday. My payment is due on the 21st. However, I am taking mj's advice and calling them because it looks like they are trying to charge me interest!! cariba
