I received in the mail an offer from household bank for a mastercard. Now I have been desperate to get a credit card, I just keep getting turned down. This offer says a $19.00 fee upfront with my application.

my question is. Even if I send in the $19.00 up front cost will the card still be declined and if so will they refund the money if declined. also, it does not state a credit limit. would anyone have any experience with household bank and these kind of offers?

This sounds like the Orchard Bank Mastercard offer.

If you send the application fee, yes it could still be declined.

I was actually approved recently, low credit limit, but the offer says good account performance makes it eligible for credit limit increases. I've seen posts on other boards that indicate they charge a fee for increases.

My initial limit was $300.00. I tried PFB about 10 days ago regarding an increase but still no response.

Getting the offer in the mail give you a better chance. I had applied on line and was declined. Then getting desparted to get my credit back on track I called and asked them to send me a secure card application. Well I ended up getting the offer that you got instead. I sent in the $19, then they asked for proof of my home phone #. Sent that in and was approved for $1000! They pulled Experian on me and thats my worst looking CR. Give it a try.

    DTG,

Do you know how they wanted you to verify the phone number, was it a utility bill or other way ?

that would be a problem for me because I live with my sister.
