My credit bureau had an old Household account listed as "closed by bank," when it should read "closed by consumer." I wrote a letter to Household directly to have this mis-information corrected. This is their bogus response: We have received your request regarding the clearing of certain information on your account. Unfortunately, we are unable to comply with your request. As we report information that relates to the actual credit experiences that we have had with you, it is not possible for us to alter or delete this information. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and we are happy to have you as a customer. As always, we remain committed to finding new ways to service your credit needs. Sincerely, Customer Service It doesn't make any sense, since this account was rarely used, but always paid in full and on time. What's the next step? Write to the credit bureau? Thanks
Next try the CRA(S)...please change to "ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CONSUMER"..I closed the account, not the bank.
For the past 4 months Household has reported two accounts in my name - both the same account number. One account is Orchard, the other Household. I have been working with them for the past month. I just faxed my current credit report to Christie, an incompetant who tells me my report is up to date. Today, I found out that they deleted one account, and the remaining account's last update is November of 2001. Now I am off to fax more info to the bastards, who will **** up the report even more. If you're not like me, I say "Sue the Bastards!"
