Well, I was going to call this "Friday Mail Call", but I think this deserves a topic all its own They sent me a check for $6K, with a special congratulations for my total credit line of $7K. Not only that, I got a 'coupon' for another $500 just for the asking. The catch? 29.9% interest!! Plus a $50 annual fee, "due and payable on the date that my Personal Credit Line Account is established ..." Do people really sign these checks?
That appeal is hard to resist. Providian became a major bank by issuing cards that REQUIRED you to accept a cash advance with the card. Then they would call you to get you to accept more cash advances.
