To help us get out of subprime but maintain some accounts... as of October

    Household will now combine accounts

You may combine Orchard to Orchard
Household to Household (including GM card)

    can't mix Household and Orchard

While your tradeline is still then Household (and not prime) you can increase your credit limit and decrease one marginal tradeline by combining.

Just thought I'd pass it on. It's a good way to start consolidating those subprime accounts on the way to prime.

    Happy New Year Everybody :)

After a long-drawn out conversation with Household via PFB, I can amend the above post to state that you can combine Household and Orchard accounts as long as they are both sub-prime.

I was told the prime ones cannot be combined, after a long argument with them. Sorry it doesnt work.

Sam, sorry combining the prime ones doesn't work but Household's and Orchard's sub-prime cards can be combined. I just had my combination completed this morning.

So you just call them and request that your accounts be combined??

Hubby has two Orchard m/c's and one has a higher annual fee than the other. Think they'll let me switch to the lower one?

As you select the account you would like to keep, I don't think it will be a problem. Since they are both Orchard you shouldn't have any difficulty doing the combination.
