Household says UCNB stays subprime

A long long time ago (about 2 years in Credinet time) there lived a bank called United Credit National Bank, a division of UICI or some such company. Now, UCNB wasn't the nicest bank like Umbrella or Wachovia in their gleaming white towers, but then again they weren't an evil one like Cross Country which raped and pillaged the countryside.

UCNB was an *okay* bank especially for those poor souls who had a bumpy ride on their magical journey through the Enchanted Credit Forest. It offered people the chance for a smoother ride, provided they pay the fees to the trolls on the bridge. But watch out! The trolls were mean and unforgiving and would put you back on the bumpy road if you didn't pay their fee. Then one day, the Wizard of SEC decided that UCNB should no longer live in the Enchanted Credit Forest. A spell was cast and UCNB was swallowed into the Abyss of Failed Creditors.

But lo! What of the poor souls on the bridge? Not too worry because the Great Blue Knight of Household Bank came riding to the rescue! And there was joyousness and merriment. With the help of his magic steed, Sir Household rescued as many poor souls as possible and put them onto a different bridge. This bridge had the promise that every 6 months or so, an automatic review for CL increases or APR reductions would occur. And there was more joyousness and merriment.

Alas, they were duped. After 18 months of timely payments to the smaller and not quite as nasty bridge tolls, our intrepid hero dared to question the Credit Gods: "Why hath thou forsaken me? Why no CL increase? Why no APR reduction? Have I offended thee?"

"YES!" was the response...but not in so many words. It seems that our hero and the rest of the poor souls with him on the bridge are pegged: thou art former UCNB trash--thou art unclean--thou art in a product code that shall not get APR reductions--thou shall pay $20 for thy $200...take it or leave it for thou art not worthy of full HHB status.

I agree I have had HH Blues for over 2 years. I have gone from $200 to $850 and just last week after asking many times received a APR rate cut to 15%. I plan on paying off and closing there isn't a reason that I need to pay a yearly fee of $69.
