Just an update on these... decided to give it a try last night. PG was probably around 630 at the time... but that can vary by the true FICO by as much as 80pts. (in my personal experience). Anyway: UnionPlus: instant 4k Corvette: instant 2.5k GM: contact in 10-14 days I tried it with my wife's too, not sure of her scores at this time, but I figured what the hey... UnionPlus: 10-14 days Corvette: 10-14 days GM: Declined (# of delinq. and balance to limit) So, you can get instant approval, a review for approval or decline, or an instant decline. Just thought I'd post this since there was some confusion in the threads as to what the 10-14 day response implied - it's not a definate decline.
You could have also applied for the GM Extended Family card. I did that instead of the UnionPlus, but one could go for all four. It was my experience that the 10-14 day thing happens after the second app, no matter what. In my own case, and my mother's, the third card was approved. I saved GM Card for last, and my mum did the Extended Family card last. Me: GM Extended Family - $4k Corvette - $3k GM Card - $1k Mom: GM Extended Family - $3k Corvette - $2.5k GM Card - $1k GM Card seems a little stingy on limits.
Cool... I tried it around 1AM EST this morning, so hopefully they code the inquires according it it actually being the same day (EST). Just tried the ext fam card & got the same 10-14 day message. We'll see...
Grr... must not be on EST. Just checked & the 1st three were 1 inq (done at 1AM EST today) on the 8th. The last GM Ext one was another inq on the 9th (done at 2PM EST today). Oh well... Only have those two inq's on EFX now - they've been pretty good about deleting them with a letter. TU on the other hand - stubborn as elephants!
Just tried to GM Declined Corvette Approved 600.00 WTF!! Kinda Low Union Plus 10 to 14 days GM Extended Family 10 t0 14 day I was surprised the corvette went thorough since the GM was declined first. Checked EQ Only one hard no score decrease.
household stinks. Trust me. i've got my reports littered with their sorry azz cards. Wont take them off either. Sadly i used compusa to get 0% for 6 months, and darnit got another HBUSA account. I'd pay them $$ to remove their littering from my credit report. lol they are so rude, call them up and ask them for a higher limit on the corvette card, you'll probably get the rudeness i got!
I have only had them a short time now, but customer service has been helpful and very friendly. About the only thing I would complain about is that they always try to sell you something once your call is over.
