Short story: Listed on my Experian report, two Montgomery Ward CC accounts as charged off. Duplicate accounts, same $$ data, but slightly different account numbers. On began with ABC, whereas the other had the same account number with the exception of ABC. Finally talk to an Experian rep who understands that I have a duplicate and removes the duplicate beginning with ABC. This is in July 2001. I continue to dispute the other account, not having much luck. I noticed that the account is removed from my report on 10-9-01. I'm very happy b/c this leave only 3 inaccurate accounts on my report. Lo' and behold, today, I pull the report and see that the account is back, then I notice that it isn't the same account, that it is the account that starts with ABC. It says "verified 8-2001." I call Experian and explained that this account beginning with ABC was removed as a duplicate in July. They told me that I disputed this account (online) in August. I explain that isn't possible since the account was NOT on my report in August. (the other account was). I explain that I have copies of my reports in front of me!!! So now, I'm back to square one with an account on my report that truly is not accurate, incorrect dates, amounts etc. An account number that could not have been verified by anyone in 8-2001 b/c it wasn't on my report!!! I called and spoke with two different reps and asked for a supervisor was told that one is not available. Was told that Experian does not keep snapshots of credit records and that this has been on my report with the ABC account number forever, etc. etc. My option is to print out partial reports that show the correct information and the absence of the incorrect information, and the absence of ANY information for this account. I am dealing with MORONS today. I could explain this to my dog and have better results. I am going to dispute this by mail, include a copy of a report from 8-01 that does not contain the ABC account, include a copy of the 10-12-01 report that includes the ABC account with the "verified 8-2001" statement. I am not disputing with the original creditor, I'm disputing with Experian. They are going to have a major problem, I'm so sick of this, I will take them to court and I will win. If possible, I will name the two moronic reps in my lawsuit as well. I COULD SCREAM!!!!!!!!
Amazing how supervisors are NEVER available with this company. If you choose, when you call back, ask for the name of their President/CEO and corporate address.... this is the only way I've been able to get a supervisor on the telephone at Experian.
