How bad are 2 year old "past dues"?

How badly would "past due" entries affect my score if they are over 2 years old? I had a 6-month unemployment span after the 9/11 attacks and had to juggle what little money I had left to pay everyone. So, pretty much my auto loan and my five cards will show 2 separate instances of 30 days late. But they range from 26-29 months old to date.

Will they prevent me from reaching the 700s on my FICO if everything else on my report is clean? I have history dating back to 1992 and my credit limits are all under 50%- 3 of them at less than 5% to show utilization.

    thanks,
    Camilo

I have two 30-day lates from the same time period, no other baddies on my reports, and my scores are 750 range. Still, when I pull PG, the "things keeping your score low" section still indicates late payments are affecting my score. Not sure whether more accounts in the same situation would affect it proportionally or whether you hit a point where a certain number of lates really hits you hard.

Try and send them a letter asking to remove that stuff. Search on here for others who have done it. I know I've seen it before.

    Good Luck!
