How can I get inquiries removed?

Have any of you folks been able to get creditors to delete inquiries? If so, how were you able to do it? The Credit Bureaus will not let me dispute inquiries on my credit reports and told me to contact the creditors directly. Do any of you, have any good suggestions or form letters to send to creditors about removing inquiries?

    Thanks in advance.

Are they really yours and you want them off or are they not yours at all?

If you want them off (and they really are yours) take it up with the creditor, pretend you have no knowledge of the inquiry and make them prove they had authorization (there is a permissable purpose letter for this). If they can't prove pp, they should remove.

If they really are not yours, push the CRA with a "willful non compliance" type letter. They are required to investigate anything (including inquiries) they have just taken it upon themselves to interpret the FCRA differently than the rest of us. They need a little pushing to follow the laws sometimes.
