I have nine hard inquiries on my Equifax report, and it's bringing my score down... Just wondering, is there a way to delete these inquiries off my report?

Pick six of the nine inquiries. Call Equifax. Speak with their rep. State to the rep "I did not apply for credit with these companies nor did I authorize anyone to apply for credit with these companies" They will remove them. After their investigation is complete (within a week) call them back and dispute two more inquiries. I think it might be ill advised to dispute all nine at same time.

    Leave one inquiry on there.

    This procudure works for me.

does this work when the inquiries match with the credit lines... meaning I applied for a Citi card, got the Citi card... applied for Amex got Amex.... applied for another Citi card got the Citi card... so on up to the nine inquires???

In the case of multiple inquiries from the same company, call EQ and tell them that those inquiries should really be AR inquiries. Heck, try that with ALL of them. EQ is usually good about this sort of thing. TU and EX, well that's a whole different story!

the rule of thumb with CRA is IF they can verify it, it will remain.

the way I see it you have nothing to loose its like a 50/50 chance it may get deleted.

rather it be recent or closer to the 2 yr range if the puller doesn't respond which they may not as it is not an acct it will get deleted.

good luck let us know the results :)

    kev, why not ?

I did and have actually got some deleted.
however I also had some duplicated due to acct review.
I didnt feel they would benefit me in anyway .

Account Review inquiries are not seen by others, so they do not affect FICO scores.

If you dispute an inquiry as "not mine" they will notify the creditor this was a fraudulent inquiry. If you have an account with that creditor they might close the account to fraud. Make Sense?
