Received a recent credit report.One trade line states in the past 48 months this account has been reported 90 or more days late 24 times.WHAT !!!!!How can that be.This account was included in bk 7 years ago.My other 2 credit reports do not even show this account.How do i dispute this error?HELP!
I would do the standard cross validation/dispute. Send a request for validation to the OC/CA sent CRRR and then when the green card comes back dispute it with the CRA as "not mine". When the CRA goes to verify with the OC/CA, they should see that the account is in error or simply unverifiable. Most banks only keep records on file for 5yrs, as required by law. What may have happened is that when the OC went to charge this off for your discharge, they transferred the original account to a new account; some OC's do this for tax purposes. At that point, the old account may have never been removed when the new one was reported to the CRA, and when the old one fell off after 7 yrs, the newer one still remains. I bet it's due to fall off soon. It should be a DOL around 1-3 mos after your others. That's how you can surmise what happened.
